MANUAL SCAN “ALL NIGHT STAND: THE BEST OF (1980-1992)”

GH-1043
CD / Digital
August 21, 1998

 Description:

Formed in San Diego at the beginning of SoCal’s late ’70s mod revival, Manual Scan played Power-pop with overt ’60s influences. They excelled at combining the bright, brash, compact sound favored by many influential Seventies bands (particularly The Jam) with ’60s-style beat music defined by the Beatles and Zombies. This hybrid sound was enthusiastically received by both power-pop mods and Sixties purists. In this way, Manual Scan helped unify the mod scene in the United States.

This long-overdue retrospective covers Manual Scan’s best years and includes most of their released material, plus a lot of great unissued cuts. In addition to incredibly good music, the (CD) package contains a 12-page, full-color booklet with cool band photos, comics, and extensive liner notes with the band’s history, detailed line-up and recording credits, discography info, and much more.
