Description

Explore and discover The Puke on This Kind of Experience. Pronounced the bad boys of the Pittsburgh Punk Scene after ripping up a Bible on stage, The Puke, formed in 1978, was one of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s First Wave Punk Bands. Minimal, raw in the extreme, and darkly humorous, they were banned from playing nearly as often as they performed. The Puke consisted of Bill Bored playing the bass drum, Pat D. Hearse on guitar and vocals, and Barney Scum on guitar and vocals.

This recording was sourced from recently surfaced cassette tapes and digitally transferred and engineered by Mike Kolesar for Get Hip Recordings. Layout and cover design by Mike Gabriel, Mount McKinleys (Get Hip) and The Sermon (Alternative Tentacles).

Both LP pressings include a hand-stamped 16-page booklet with color photos, essays by Pittsburgh DJ and writer W. T. Koltek and sole surviving band member Pat D. Hearse, plus reproductions of posters for shows and additional ephemera.

The limited release pink vinyl also contains a signed and numbered photo postcard of the band taken by noted Pittsburgh photographer Larry Rippel, a DVD of the February 4th, 1979 broadcast of the Pittsburgh weekly news show 30 Minutes featuring The Puke in a hand-stamped sleeve, a hand-stamped Bible page and bonus ephemera.
